Repo Man or some such.

Kenny and I bought our house over two years ago. It was a foreclosure, so the piles of unpaid bills in the previous owner's name came to be expected. I went above and beyond contacting companies to inform them that Karina and John no longer lived here. The mail tapered off, except for the occasional junk mail here and there. Then this morning we wake up to this taped to my car.

Oh. For reals. After many phone calls to "Mr. Garcia" with no answer and no ability to leave a message, I finally did what my attorney, ahem, my dad told me to do and contacted the police. I have seen that show where they repossess people's cars. I am not about to get in a fight with that big 'ole dude. The one with the 'stache and the huge tattoo. Like he is really going to believe I am not Karina, as I chase him down the street screaming, "No! For real. My name is TRICIA!" I now have about a bajillion signs taped to my car informing them that towing my vehicle is illegal, as it does not belong to Karina or John, nor do I know said Karina or John.

I also got my video camera out, cause if they do show up to tow my car I am totally taping it as I chase them down the street.

I'm sure if it was happening to me I'd be pretty pissed, but reading about it is HILARIOUS

That is funny shit but you'd think they'd be smart enough to check the VIN and see who the vehicle is registered to. Idiots!

Please, please video tape it. It would be so incredible to see your car being towed and you cursing them out.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this! (But it is funny!)

I fould your blog through The Van Fam blog (Stephanie is a good friend of my friend Marissa) anyway...your blog cracks me up! I just recently got married and I remember looking through the bridal gowns on Craigslist with my BFF and cracking up! But the point of this comment was to say when I was single and lived in an apartment I had the same letter taped to my front door one afternoon when I got home...and I believe it was a Mr.Garcia I had to call too! Apparently the girl that lived in my apt before me hadn't paid her car note ;)

Did Mrs. Hill call you a "lyin' bitch ass" when you tried to tell her you weren't Karina??? No? Well that is what they did to me! But my car hasn't been towed. Yet.

LOL...no she didn't!! I talked to Mr.Garcia and told him he had the wrong apartment and he said "Ok" and I never heard from him again. I guess it was different for me since the notice wasn't on my actual car...just my front door...so technically Mr.Garcia didn't even know what I drove.

Oh good Lord.

Jason used to be a repo man (no, I'm seriously not kidding) and I'd say it's one HELL of a longshot that you drive the same kind of car as the people who used to live there. Ridiculous and unprofessional bastages!

Anyway. I'm not sure about where you live, but if for some odd reason they DID show up and try to repo your car, in some states (all the states my husband repo'd in) if you tell them to NOT TAKE YOUR CAR then they can't take your car. And for the love of God, if they do try to take your car, please sue their stupid asses.

Jesus.
