Things that are awesome.

A list of things I find awesome.

1. Going to a fun Christmas party.

2. Hearing a little rumor, while at said Christmas party, about a shooting on our street last year involving two doctors.

3. Me, being obsessive, coming home to search the news reports.

4. Finding the article online about an estranged husband shooting his wife's new man in the driveway of her house before driving back home and shooting himself.

5. Seeing the name of the woman involved and recognizing it, because her mail still comes to the house.

6. Living in the house where the man got shot.

For clarification sake, he lived. But still creepy.

I never got the text!!!

Other crazy facts...the shooter did not live. The family of the shooter, just moved to the back of the neighborhood. The daughter is in Jill's grade, and Jill knows her. A few weeks ago, Jill came home telling me all about how she told her we live in her old house. Yeah. Cause there are super happy memories here for her. Daddy barges in and shoots Mommy's boyfriend. Good fun times. Maybe we should have her over for cookies.

Oh the gossip of your new hood. At least "upper middle class" nonsense is a tad more gossip worthy than scary.

I should mention that this neighborhood is based around a country club with the highest memberships fees in the Houston area. Totally ghetto up in here. I completely imagine this gunfight took place with some antigue revolver inlaid with diamonds or some shit.

Let's not even get into how often the lights turn themsleves on and off. Mmmkay?
