I may lack in the funny, or you know any blogging at all, for awhile. Why you ask? Well, because of this. There is a lot going with Little E right now, and I am kind of out energy. I'll be around sporadically. Like when I drink extra coffee. Otherwise, I'll be spending three days a week a Texas Children's (You know, just a hour drive each direction, with a minimum of three hours in each appointment), which is my current schedule for now until December 23rd.

As you might remember I have 11 out of 16 electrodes in my left side, as they shut off the 5 that slipped out. My right side gives me nothing, even after a third surgery to pull out the squished electrodes and put new ones in. They are stumped. I, on the other hand, am getting amazing comprehension (better each day) with just the one CI and with 11 electrodes.
Like you, the travel is over 90 minutes each way to my clinic, and I make the trip at least once a week since May this past year. I am pretty much done doing that, and will resign myself to the fact that this is as good as it gets, and it is pretty darn good.
Sorry of course for what you are going through with your little one, but I know it will be fine in the end.

Warmest,

David

Dave, I am curious, how long was it before the electrode aaray migrated? And is continuing to move?

Hey girl, I know I haven't been around but when J told me about your post I had to come out of hiding and tell you that I am so sorry, I hope everything turns out alright with Emmi and feel free to call me if you want to talk (you know, if you have any time).
