Potential Surgery Date

We met with the implant team this morning. We have potential surgery date of July 20th. It will perhaps be sooner. Definitely this month.

While other people spend the final month before their wedding worrying over the last minute details like tallying up the guest count and assembling programs, I will be by my kid's side as she goes through major surgery. Again. There will be post op appointments and implant activations and many trips back and forth to Texas Children's. I will be leaving my kid for a week to go on a honeymoon shortly after she has major surgery. I think that pretty much qualifies me for the Mother of the Year Award.

It's an awesome time around here right now. Just awesome.

Dude, I'm so sorry.

I thought you were getting married next year, did I miss something?

You are a great mom, lady. Maybe you guys could reschedule for a later date if it won't cost too much.

Oh we have already rescheduled the wedding once. I have already lost one set of deposits and such. So the wedding is on surgery and all!

Oh and yes, the wedding was originally March 20, 2010. We moved it to August 15th!

I can help out with whatever you need, promise! And you ARE Mom of the year...by far!! There aren't many people who could juggle what you do!

Aimee, your help is needed. What I need you to do is help me order a REALLY large margarita and sit with me while I drink it.

Tricia,

Your father and I will be thrilled to be with Emmi again for her reactivation, if that occurs while you're out of town. If you miss it this time while on your honeymoon, it's because, after much thought, you've made the sacrifice to miss it, so that she can be reactivated sooner and not have to wait until you get back. Your girls will celebrate your marriage all their lives, so enjoy and stop feeling guilty!

But maybe, between now and your wedding, start looking for some especially cute bonnets or hats for the girls to wear on your wedding day in case you don't want Emmi-with-a-half-mohawk wedding pictures for eternity? Smile.

You are a great mom. If there is anything I can do from California, or my mom can do...DO NOT HESITATE TO REACH OUT. Thinking of you....

Ok, I'm late again...but if it makes you feel better I drank the biggest margarita ever in Vegas...just for you! I think it was like 90 oz or something ridiculous!
